Training Courses
Toon Boom Training is critical because you:

Training sessions can be organized anywhere and can be customized to your needs. In order to make the most of your investment in training, we suggest that you make sure the system is properly installed and tested prior to the trainer’s arrival. Please consider ordering OPUS System Administration Course to maximize your studio’s efficiency and your training experience.
Upon successful completion of the training session, the user will receive a Certificate of Achievement. This certifies that the user has successfully completed training for either Toon Boom Digital Pro or Toon Boom Harmony.
À la Carte Training
This custom training programme is comprised of modules that can be combined or interchanged to suit the user’s needs. The user or studio can create its own training programme depending on the amount of available time they have and the production’s requirements.Modules take one to two days, depending on the number of participants, their skills and the language in which the training is provided. Note that some modules are pre-requisites to others and will need to be combined to ensure the successful delivery of the training.
- Module 1: Introduction to the Interface and Drawing (Pre-requisite for modules 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8)
At the end of the training session, the user will be able to setup a scene, import external elements, hand-draw and navigate through the interface. This module is divided in two sub modules which are Introduction to Interface (1a) and Introduction to Drawing (1b).
- Module 2: Cut-out Character Creation
During this training session, the user will create character models and colour palettes, paint colour models, analyze character breakdowns, draw pivots and rig characters.
- Module 3: Cut-out Animation and Library Management
This training session will enable users to animate cut-out characters, apply lip-sync as well as store and reuse templates. This module is divided in two sub modules which are Cut-out animation (3a) and Library management (3b).
- Module 4: Introduction to Compositing (Pre-requisite for module 5)
This training session will enable users to setup elements in the scene, create camera moves, animate trajectories and create multiplane setups.
- Module 5: Effects
At the end of the training session, the user will be able to create basic and advanced effects and render out a scene. This module comes also with a sub module titled Introduction to Effects (5a) which covers Basic Effects and Rendering only
- Module 6: Paperless Animation and Painting
During this training session, the user will learn how to hand-draw, animate, create colour palettes as well as paint drawings. This module is divided in two sub modules which are Paperless Animation (6a) and Ink and Paint (6b).
- Module 7: Morphing and Glue Joints
At the end of the training session, the user will be able to draw, create morphing sequences using basic and advanced techniques as well as create joints with Glue. This module comes also with a sub module titled Basic Morphing (7a).
- Module 8: Traditional Scanning and Ink and Painting
During this training session, the user will learn how to scan paper drawings, vectorize drawings, clean scanned drawings, set timing in the x-sheet and paint drawings with the fast ink and paint tools. This module is divided in three sub modules which are Scanning (8a), X-sheet (8b) and Ink and Paint – Traditional (8c).
Turn Key Training
Toon Boom Professional Animation Training can be concentrated into a five-day format. The training will be mainly focused on cut-out animation, traditional animation or paperless animation following the user’s needs.Five-day training is based on the modular training components. The same objectives and requirements apply as for A La Carte Training.

The training will cover most of the software’s features and allow time to review and practice what was learnt during the training session.
