DP0006: Installation Procedure to obtain license.dat from remote machine.

NOTE: This procedure is for users who do not have Internet access on the machine where Digital Pro is installed and wish to obtain the license.dat from a computer that has internet access. If the machine on which you have installed Digital Pro has internet access, please go to Installation Procedure for Single (purple) Dongle to continue the installation.

License.dat: This is the license file that you need to obtain in order to run Digital Pro. This license file contains Toon Boom Digital Pro features and the unique Dongle ID number matched to your dongle. Through this installation procedure, you will be able to download and install it.
 
Dongle: It is a little plastic (purple or red) USB device that you need to insert into a working USB port of your computer in order to run Toon Boom Digital Pro.

HASP key driver: It is the Dongle device driver that let your machine recognize the Dongle. If you have not installed this driver during the Toon Boom Digital Pro installation, please see Preparation section for more information about installing the right HASP dongle device driver.
 
Product code: This is 25-digit alphanumeric code on the CD sleeve or attached cardboard product key card of the DVD case. The product code is used to register your product and also to get license.dat.

Preparation

If you are not sure if you have installed the HASP dongle device driver or not, please install it from the installation CD by inserting it and choose 'HASP driver?and go to 'HASP_HL_driver_setup' folder and install 'HASPUserSetup.exe'(for Windows users). For Mac users, insert the Toon Boom Digital Pro installation CD and click the 'License Manager' folder icon and then click 'HDD_Installer_MacOXS.dmg' to install before proceeding to the License Wizard.

In order to run your Toon Boom Digital Pro, you need to have a license.dat matching with your Dongle so that this product is registered under your Toon Boom member account and you are fully entitled as the owner of the product. In order to do this, you need to have Toon Boom Members account ready for the license generation. Also you will need the 25-digit alphanumeric product code ready to process below. Lastly, you need to have a internet access to complete your registration. If your workstation does not have internet access, please use a computer with internet access to register your product code and obtain your license.

Step 1. Please insert Toon Boom Digital Pro Dongle.

Note: If you have more than one HASP dongle attached to your machine, please remove them all except for the Toon Boon Digital Pro Dongle. If you also have a Hasp dongle attached to another computer on the local network, please disconnect your network cable to prevent the wrong dongle information being used by the license wizard to generate your Digital Pro license. You will need to reconnect your network cable again later for the actual license registration which will be done over the internet.

Step 2. Please run License Wizard and click next. You can find License Wizard in:

Windows: Start>All Programs>Toon Boom Animation>Toon Boom Digital Pro (Educational) Tools
Mac: In Finder, Application>Toon Boom Digital Pro (Educational)>Tools

Note: If your License Wizard appears different from image above, please patch it after registering your product and after successfully installed the license.dat file. This installation guide will instruct you on how to do this further down.

Step 3. Once you have inserted the Toon Boon Digital Pro dongle, you will see the Dongle ID. Here is an example of the Dongle ID; please note that your dongle ID is different from the Dongle ID in the image shown below. Write this number down carefully and go to any computer that has internet access.

Step 4. Login to the member's site at http://www.toonboom.com/members/ and choose 'Product registration' and then choose Digital Pro to enter the license key (25-digit product code). You can also manually go to http://www.toonboom.com/products/licensed_registration/index.php directly and login to register. It is up to you.

Step 5. Enter the Dongle ID from step 3. Please make sure to type it correctly and not to leave any spaces before or after the dongle ID number. Please note that this is an example of a Dongle ID and that your dongle ID is different from the Dongle ID used in the image shown below. Note that the Dogle key ID is case-sensitive since you have only one chance to enter it correctly.
Your product code will be "locked" after use and may not be used again to generate a Digital Pro license.

Step 6. Please go back to the computer on which you have installed Digital Pro and run the License wizard up to the 멟btain Dongle ID?page. And then choose 멗 already have a license?option and click next.

Step 7. You can copy & paste the license on the button of the empty area or just simply drag and drop the license.dat from your email into the panel.

Step 8. After you have added the license file, click next to finish the installation.

For anyone who does not have the same License Wizard interface as show pictured above, you should patch your current Digital Pro at this point. Please visit your member's page at http://www.toonboom.com/members/ and login. Then you will see the patch available for download on your 'My products' tab.

Lastly, if you already have the license and you need to install it on new machine or fresh installation, you can select 멗 already have a license?from Step 3 and continue on from Step 8.
