I can not scan my drawing with Optical Registration.

DP0005: I can not scan my drawing with Optical Registration.

As long as the TWAIN driver of the scanner supports your existing OS, it should work since Digital Pro and PLE are relying on that TWAIN. So if we assume that the hardware setup is correct (including standard animation paper format), here is the procedure you can refer to while you are scanning with optical registration. I have made with 200 DPI as an example.

Step1. choose the proper setting with DPI (200 in this case) and then the Image mode as ‘Black & White’ for example. Then click the Option button

Step2. Inside option window, choose -90 degrees since the peg is not on the bottom. You may however, use the left, right, top for the peg side depending on the orientation of the pegs.

Step3. Then choose the images and when you are at the scan drawings menu, click “Edit Vectorization Parameters” for the optical registration settings.

Since we have decided to have the pegs on the bottom for convenience, chose the bottom peg side option. Also you have to make sure putting the right DPI that you have used for scan. In our case here it is 200 DPI. Also the “Loose” option will let Digital Pro search a larger area for the peg hole that gives you a less chances for Optical registration error.

If all this still does not solve your peg recognition issues, verify that the animation paper that you are using is standard (especially, peg hole location since using “Loose” option may help in certain cases). Also check the center peg hole if it is round, clear and it is not damaged looking. Lastly, if there are any pencil lines or markings (or drawing number) near or touching the peg holes in the animation paper so that the optical registration does not get confused.
